A group of assets developed for an event sponsored by Springfield Black Tie featuring a dinner, drinks, dancing and music. Assets created for this project include an event poster, a postcard advertisement/invitation, a ticket and a menu for the meal.
Poster and menu
When I created this design, I wanted something that hinted at a Valentine's Day theme, but that wasn't over-done. I found this texture I had created from brush and ink that I though would work well as a decorative element. While I did choose a Valentine's Day color palette, I went with vibrant versions of the usual colors set against a stark white background.
I chose two contrasting typefaces: Alana, which is a script-like typeface to convey an element of romance and whimsy and Adelphi PE variable, which is modern sans serif typeface to contrast and give an air of sophistication. Alana uses one of the puple shades found in the decorative element and Adelphi PE Variable is set in a chocolate brown color.
These elements are used throughout the set of assets created for this event.
