For this project, I was asked to create a series of assets for a Shakespeare in the Park event series. In the upper left corner are a promotional poster and tickets (one for Thursday performances and one for Saturday performances. In the bottom left is a program featuring the poster in the center as a souveneir. Along the left side are social media assets including a Facebook event cover and ad and an Instagram carousel and story. (2024)
PROCESS-concept
For this project I wanted to avoid common cliches like using masks or obvious love images. I did some visual research on the concept of "courtly love" and came up with the following image, which I used as the basis for the color palette and floral concept.
PROCESS-sketches
I started with two ideas around the concept of courtly love. I experimented with layout and color variations for both. I decided the floral concept better matched my inspiration and had more potential for the other assets we needed to create for this campaign.
PROCESS-other assets
As I created the other assets, I wanted to keep the floral motif. However, I needed to manipulate the layout quite a bit as each asset had very different dimensions and requirements. I kept the color palette of the flowers and vine the same and used a similar curvy vine motif on each asset for consistency. I made a light yellow and light pink background color based on the inspiration image. I used one color for each social media platform. This gave the overall campaign visual interest while still being cohesive as one unit.
