Murder Mystery Party poster
Creating a promotional package for a "Murder Mystery Party" was the direction of the creative brief for this project. This poster was one of the deliverables along with packaging and digital and print invitations that my partner Noah and I created for this project.
We were also to combine two artistic styles in our materials. In our case, these were De Stijl and Expressionism.  We chose the primary color palette and geometric shapes of De Stijl and combined that with the moody feel of Expressionist works by using drop shadow and spotlight.  Each of us worked on different elements of the poster.  Noah worked on the designs of the card suits (each of which also contained something “murder” or “party” themed) and I worked on the layout of the elements and the text hierarchy. While we each had assigned tasks, we also spent a great deal of time in making sure our individual ideas meshed well into the overall theme of the poster, with the result appearing to have been designed by one person rather than two.
