This project was based around creating a 3D diorama. I chose this dragon as the primary character, but as a twist to the usual dragon tropes, made him anxious rather than fierce. The reason for this change is that the premise of the story here is that he's exploring the nearby house and trying to figure out if the creatures inside are real or not. Many 3D elements were combined in this illustration. The dragon is wireframe and polymer clay, the house is cardboard and balsa wood and the trees are sticks from the backyard covered in moss. The backdrop was digitally painted and gives a touch of whimsy to the scene. (polymer clay, cardboard, natural materials, paint, photo manipulation and digitally painted backdrop, 10" x 8", 2024).
